Kim Scaltreto
Position: 2/3 Educator
My name is Kimberly Marie Scaltreto; most people call me Kim, Kimmy, or even Ms.Kim. I was born and raised in Newton and still live in the house I grew up in. I attended Franklin Elementary and moved up to F.A. Day Middle School. When I reached high school I pursued my passion for becoming a hairdresser, and attended Minuteman Technical High School in Lexington. I graduated with a high school diploma and my cosmetology license. I loved cutting hair but life altering events took me in a different direction which brought me to the work I do now as a Director at a camp run by the Newton Parks and Recreation. I have been there for 12 years and I love it!. I have had many other occupations in my life but that is a story for another time. I'm a mother of 3, Atavio, my son who is 23, my middle daughter Bianca, 20, and my youngest Marlena, 17, who is following in my footsteps at Minuteman High School. I am very proud of the young adults they have become. In my free time I love to camp or just about any outdoor activities with family. I'm so excited to be a new member of the CASP family! I have lots of ideas to offer, especially in this difficult time of the pandemic. I also look forward to learning new things from the CASP program. Thank you so much for the opportunity and I can't wait to meet the rest of the staff.
